Forgemoji's emoji wallpaper maker lets you assemble a phone, desktop, or social-media wallpaper by combining a curated set of emoji with a colored gradient. Four layouts (grid, collage, center, pattern) cover most design needs, and the density slider controls how packed the canvas feels. The export PNG is rendered at the native resolution of the device you target, so it stays sharp on retina displays.
How to make an emoji wallpaper

Pick a layout
Choose Grid for a tiled background, Collage for a scattered look, Center for a hero emoji with a ring, or Pattern for diagonal stripes.

Choose a gradient
Pick a gradient that fits your mood. Sunset and Peach are warm and cozy, Ocean and Midnight are calm and cool, and Cotton and Lemon are bright and airy.

Click emoji in the palette to add them. Mix 3–5 emoji for a clean look, or 10+ for a busy collage. Use the density slider to control how much of the canvas the emoji fill.

The four layouts, explained
Each layout draws emoji differently. The best layout depends on how many emoji you use and the kind of wallpaper you want.
Grid
Tiles emoji in an even grid that fills the whole canvas. Great for backgrounds where the emoji should form a repeating pattern. Increase density to pack more emoji per row.
Collage
Scatters emoji across the canvas with slight rotation, like stickers on a notebook. Best for casual, playful designs. Use fewer emoji to avoid clutter.
Center
Places one large emoji in the middle and surrounds it with smaller emoji on a ring. The hero emoji is always the first one you picked. Use this for a single statement image.
Pattern
Stacks emoji along diagonal lines. The result looks like a hero banner or a magazine cover. Density controls the spacing between rows.
Choose the right export size
Export sizes match the native resolution of common devices, so wallpapers look sharp without scaling artifacts.
iPhone (1170×2532)
Matches the native resolution of recent iPhone models (14, 15, 16 Pro). The image will not be cropped or downscaled when set as your wallpaper.
Android (1440×3200)
Matches high-end Android displays (Pixel 7 Pro, Galaxy S23/S24 Ultra). The 19.5:9 aspect ratio works for both home screen and lock screen.
Desktop (2560×1440)
Standard 16:9 desktop resolution. Works on most monitors and laptops. For ultra-wide displays, use a square export instead and let the OS center it.
Tips for better emoji wallpapers
- ✦Limit your palette to 3–5 emoji for a clean look, or 10+ if you want a busy background.
- ✦Match the gradient mood to the emoji: warm gradients (sunset, peach) for cozy emoji; cool gradients (ocean, midnight) for calm emoji.
- ✦Reduce emoji opacity to 60–80% so the gradient color shows through. This makes the design feel softer and more wallpaper-like.
- ✦For lock screens, prefer Center or Collage — they have negative space where the clock can sit.
- ✦On iOS, after downloading, open the Photos app → Share → Use as Wallpaper. On Android, open the file → Set as wallpaper from the file manager.
